About Us

Fylde Counselling Service was founded over 35 years ago and has consistently provided therapeutic help to those in need. We are a volunteer-led charitable organisation that provides donation-based, time-limited counselling to the residents of Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre aged 16+. As a charity, we do not receive any funding from the NHS and we rely on donations from the public, service users and charitable grants to continue our work.

In 2010 we joined with Fylde Coast YMCA, and our office is based at Face 2 Face in the St Annes YMCA centre.

Our Counsellors

At Fylde Counselling Service we believe that the process of sharing anxieties, hopes, and fears can help a person to develop and learn to manage their life better. We believe that the quality of the relationship between client and counsellor is key to this, and our counselling is provided by counsellors trained in person centred and integrative counselling which puts the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work we do. We offer placements for counsellors in training and many remain with us as qualified therapists. All our counsellors are members of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and work within their code of ethics.
